I have to say, i love this tablet “revolution” .
After apple unveilled and released the iPad the tech world is innundated with news of tablets from HP , from Samsung, and even a supermarket chain decided it would release one. Tablet computing is not just deffenetly in our future, it’s already here.
Unfortunately , like all other markets that are dominated by someone who seems to get it, its hard to compete.
All tablets that come out will be in the shadow of the iPad.
They can be good, but they will need to be extra good. Extra better. They can do android, meego, symbian, or google OS, but they are going in competing for second place. At least for a while.
At least until one of then comes out with something that can outdo the iPad repeatedly, not just a one off.
Something that will prove to be superior continuously.
Right now, i don’t even see the competition. All the promises fall short on the drawing board it seems.
The ipad does 1 thing well. Immersion. Performance helps , but the screen realestate is what ties the bow and connects immersion to comfort and makes it pleasureable, not jut useable.
Make no mistake. I can be wrong about the what, but I’m sure about the why. Pleasureable is what will make me eventually shell out € for a device that is a luxury toy that I KNOW I don’t really need.
Notice how no other tablets out now even TRY to be as big. none. thats how many. I’m baffled by this. 7” ? really? So it can fit in my oversized pockets? how can they not see how awkward using it is going to be.
So I have to ask, where are the competitors that get it right? where are the tablets that are pleasureable to use that dont come with an iOS and an Apple logo?
It’s been a while since I heard heavier stuff and this release was completely off my radar up till yesterday.
Was listening to it today and seems to be quite good. Hasn’t had time to grow on me yet but I think it will.
A bit far from my current playlist though.
And I have a new theme on the blog. Let’s see if this is what pushes me to writing :P
This is one really good movie. The feeling you get is not unsimilar to having the crap kicked out of you. Its a very emotional movie and a very well told story. If you get a chance, see it.
